The Delhi Urban Extension Road 2 (UER 2) is a significant under-construction expressway (NH-344M) being developed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). It will serve as the third semi-ring road within Delhi along its western boundary, enhancing connectivity across the region.

Project Features and Route
Phase 1 Route:
Starts from NH-1 near Bankoli village and ends near Sector 24 in Dwarka.
It connects NH-1, NH-10, NH-8, and NH-2 via key regions including Bawana Industrial Area, Rohini, Mundka, Najafgarh, and Dwarka.Purpose:
Provides seamless access between north and northwest Delhi, IGI Airport, and Gurgaon.Engineering Model: EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction).
Historical Background
Originally envisioned by Delhi Development Authority (DDA) under the Delhi Master Plan 2021, the project faced delays due to land acquisition and financial issues.
Handed over to NHAI in 2018, the project received ₹4,000 crore of viability gap funding from DDA.
Current Status
Expected Completion: December 2024.
Land Acquisition: Minor acquisitions underway.
Under Construction: 7.5 km stretch as part of Dwarka Expressway packages.

Phase 2 of UER 2
The Delhi Government will take up Phase 2, which includes:
Rangpuri Bypass to Vasant Kunj.
Upgrades to Nelson Mandela Marg and Mehrauli-Badarpur Road.
Elevated corridors and interchanges at critical points.
